Fughetta, a short three-voice fugue |
Jean-Pierre Vial composed this Fughetta in 2015. Since then, he has made several arrangements of this short fugue for various trios. Fughetta is a three-voice fugue that contains all the elements of a classical fugue (i.e., subject, counterpoint, developments, stretto, coda, etc.). Flutist Iwona Glinka, violist Anna Bura & cellist Mariya Bil recorded a version of the Fughetta for flute, viola & cello in Kwidzyn, Poland, in April 2024. The corresponding CD is shown above. In February 2025, the CD received a Clouzine international music award for Best contemporary classical recording, shown here. In September 2025, it received a Silver diploma in foreign category Premieres, from Muzyczne Orły, shown below. The same trio also performed this same version during a concert in Kwidzyn, Poland, in June 2024. To watch the corresponding video, click this link. |
